This space is reserved for pictures and information relating to woodworking and the techniques I use to make my puzzles. I will be adding frequently; Please check back for updates.
The background for the puzzle shots is provided by my peacoat, laid over the kitchen chopping island. For larger items, the girlfriend's peacoat is also appropriated, and draped over a breadbox to provide a backdrop. The three lamp light is trundled in from the living room to perform double duty as fill lighting.
The tripod is left over from my old SLR camera. My camera is a tiny Canon Powershot S200 digitail, and it looks absolutely silly mounted on the tripod.
Items are laid on the peacoat and shot. I find that if the camera is at least 24 inches away from the item, the picture turns out all right. Any closer then this, and the flash turns everything blue. To remedy this, take a plastic bread tab and some tape, and hang it so it partially obscures the flash. Try and find a white one...mine is yellow, and imparts a yellow tint to some of the shots.
I have been recieving a lot of correspondance regarding my puzzle pictures. Therefore, I have decided to share with the world my ultra-modern, top secret photography setup.
