I did not mention it in the last update, mainly because I forgot to *do* a What's New update last time. I think my brain was addled by the upcoming vacation I enjoyed. Anyway, we have initiated the inagural Stweart Coffin Puzzle Craft Competition. Please check it out by clicking on the "Puzzle Contest" link on the main page. I'm excited and hope there is a lot of participation by amateur woodworkers.
Also, there is less than a month before the next Marketplace event, so if you have been planning on making some room on your shelves, now is a great time to list your surplus puzzles. The listing form is always open - items are automatically scheduled to begin at the start of the next event.
Finally, new work includes:
-Seven Piece Improved Hexsticks
-Twelve Straight/Twisted
-Quad Lock
-Burrloon

New puzzles released, including:
1.10.2008
Also, there is an update with several new puzzles, including:
Finally, a new policy. Several customers purchased multiple copies of a single puzzle in our last update, which resulted in some of our regular patrons being left out on the new items. I hope and believe that the multiple copies were intended for gifts and not resale. Either way, I'm afraid we must limit the purchase of puzzle designs to one per customer (by that I mean one copy of the design even if there are multiple wood options available) for the first 48 hours that the item is listed...after that, the sky's the limit. I do this to protect the interests of our longtime supoporters, to whom I feel a debt of gratitude.

Here's wishing you happiness and success in 2008! This summer will be the 5 year anniversary of Cubicdissection. When I started the site I had no idea it would grow into what it has become. So, my heartfelt and sincere thanks. Without your loyal patronage none of this would have been possible.
My New Year’s resolution is to share more information here in the What’s New section. I’ll admit that I’ve been lazy about that during the last couple years, with brief updates that were not very informative.
Coming into this New Year I've been feeling a renewed vigor and sense of purpose when it comes to this site and its role in the puzzling world in general. So it’s only appropriate that I start the year out with a grand new addition which I feel will benefit the entire puzzle community. The Cubicdissection Marketplace is now operational! Many of you will have received an invitation via email to register for the first event. You can click on the "Puzzle Market" button on the main page for more information, but in a nutshell the Marketplace will facilitate trade between collectors of fine puzzles for the first time...no more exclusive private auctions. By scheduling the events to occur three times per year, everyone wins; sellers will be motivated to list their best puzzles and buyers will benefit from some sorely needed competition. I’m very excited about it and have high hopes for the concept.
I have also been working on the site in other ways. Patrons are now protected with a secure SSL connection. Also, I have finally fixed for good the shopping cart glitch that occasionally resulted in lost orders.
I’m very excited to announce the pending addition of two new member artists to the site. Scott Peterson and Fritz Hoddock will soon be listing their first items. You can read more about them in the Artists Profile section after their debut.
Finally, I would like to issue a call for artists. The providential "discovery" of Fritz and Scott leads me to believe that there are likely many more talented craftsmen out there toiling in anonymity. If anyone knows of someone whose work you would like to share with the rest of us, please refer them to me. The more the merrier; together we make Cubicdissection so much better then any of us could on our own!
The first Marketplace event will begin on January 10th...there should also be a website update at around the same time.
I realized I forgot to make an entry for the April update, so here it is in brief!
-Crooked Notches
-IRMO Puzzle Box
-Penta Puzzle
-7 woods
-Stickman Domino Puzzle Box
-Domino Tower
-Domino Cube
-Domino Block
Well, the first Marketplace event is about to start as I write this, and I'm very excited and curious. I honestly have no idea what will happen with it. I invested a decent amount of money into the software and a lot of time getting it up and running and customized. I hope it turns into a useful tool for the entire community...guess I'll know in a couple weeks!
-Min's Cube In Cage 333 by Eric
-Portable Pen Puzzle Box by Eric
-Star of David by our newest artist Scott Peterson
