The objective of packing puzzles is to "pack" a certain number of pieces into a container. The criteria I used to list these puzzles were that there must be pieces and a container. The container does not necessarily have to be a box; trays qualify as well. Sounds silly, but you could argue that any non-interlocking cube is really just a packing puzzle without a box. I find it easier to sort cube puzzles into their own category.
