Fritz has been working with wood all his life, since his father had a small woodshop for home projects in their basement. He has been a professional cabinet and furniture maker and designer for about 26 years. Over those years some of his work has found its way into a few newspapers and magazines. Though he has been fascinated with wood puzzles since childhood, it never occurred to him to design or make any until he started exploring three dimensional geometry with CAD software about four years ago. It has opened up a whole new dimension of possibilities and has contributed greatly to the refinement and precision of his woodworking techniques and methodologies.
