Boet, of course you are putting in 100% when you post, at least when you are poking Robert, but of the total number of posts, your contribution is 22,4% of all posts done on this total forum from day one.

All I'm trying to convey to Robey Charles, is that the numbers actually means zip, because most of the posts came from less than 20 forum members.  What does it matter if there are a 1000 members, but only a few actually use it for the purpose it was created, namely to exchange ideas, give advice, exhort people to great efforts, encourage them, cheer them on (Way to go Stephen!!!!), trying to get people to make pens!!!, etc, etc.

Once again the stats speak for itself.  Every single first time visitor to my house never knew that puzzlemaking and collecting is a serious business for a very small select group of nuts in the world.  I'm willing to put a buck ($1) down to say that it is the case with first time visitors to all of you.  Look at the numbers going to local, or international, puzzle parties.  I'm one of a population of 40 million, and the only one making puzzles on this scale and  I would like to say quality!

Robert,  they are just not there.  Why do you think I've been poking the silent watchers on this forum a few times?  Why do I enjoy this forum?  Because I can "speak" to like minded people in the puzzle world, which is very small. In fact, f.... minute!

My excuse to watch TV is that I am glueing or sanding in front of it.  If I am e-mailing, my excuse is that I am letting glue dry.  In this manner, I am always working and feel no guilt.

Ahh, we find the Pareto principle everywhere, in sales, at work, in school, and of course, on Internet forums.  Simply put, the rule states that 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.  So, in sales, 80$ of your business will come from 20% of your clients, and so on.

Although there are enough variations on the rule to almost bust it, the so-called "clumping" effect is almost universal.

And here we are!

Yes, that it is precisely!

Pareto strikes again.

Bump it up a nothch.  I've also noticed that 1% of the customers cause 99% of the problems.  This is not really the case in puzzles as everyone is so cool, but just in business in general.

John, the guilt comes anytime I am not being productive.  It is the burden of being a work-oholic.

Yeah, would not have it any other way.  Done the 9-5 thing before.  A regular job pays more and requires less hours, but you can't knock the flexibility of working from home.  These are years that you will never get back, and it is best to work from home where you can also spend time with family.

OK, let's face it, I just like to take a nap in the middle of the day.
