Seeing that I am never giving up my day job, nor finding my big table saw, I will start this topic.I make most of my puzzle pieces from my Makita Compound mitre saw, with limited space and time, I at least I get a puzzle within a week

Planning 100 Chinnys Triacontahedrons for the Exchange, I made my 1st  prototype jig cutting Rhomboids. 30 pieces x 100 is a lot of pieces. Prep the long sticks with the proxxon saw at 18.2 degrees, then cut with the Makita, blade angle 18.2 and the tables slide at 26.5 degrees. Accuracy at 0.2 mm at worst

Big Table saws actually scares me, the Scream of Death I call them , there has been a few close shaves, esp kickbacks. Lucky I can still count 12 fingers at the end of the day.

Different approach, bottom line is that it's a simple jig that works, and I am happy with it

So, lets see yours....with close ups,,,,

Well, let me tell you I think you're on to something with the Miter/Chop saw to cut those pieces Stephen, they really are very versatile, I use mine a lot for special cuts, in fact when I made a run of Bill Cutler's Blockhead, I used it exclusively to cut the odd angles of the pieces, didn't even need a special jig!!  I'm just in the middle of gluing up a puzzle but when I get a chance I'll post detailed pics to give some idea how versatile the 'Miter' saw is! All things great coming from you, love to see the pics.
My Makita blade swings both ways. Believe it or not, the 2 tiers are mirrors on fitting, so you have to swing both ways for cutting the 30 pieces each. Safer than table saws, trigger on and off as oppose to continual ons

Left toggle clamp holds the stopper piece, which can be glued if needed. Centre toggle holds the actual Golden Rhomboid , and the right one holds the stock from falling after the cut. The half hour sprinkling saw dust and tools , gives it a homey well used look

Last visit to Brian Young's ( Mr Puzzle) workshop at IPP 27, 1 equipment missing is the table saw, he doesn't use one. Has a big widow maker thou

Here's a few pics of my Miter saw set-up.  The first thing I did was make a 'zero clearance throat', easily made by copying the original(which is practically useless!)
As can be seen in the pics, I made fences with a track system so sub-fences can be added to suit whatever's needed.  Positioning of the sub-fences for a particular cut is easily accomplished and then 'Voila' perfectly backed up cuts!!  I've never found a need for 'toggle clamps' to hold the pieces to be cut but could easily be added, typically I use a special block to hold the pieces, which holds the pieces tight to the fence and downward as well!
