Umph Umm!!! You also need to work with ebony, or do you not recall a little domino project we had tucked in the wings.  Cheesy

Oh yeah, I wouldn't forget that, thanks for the reminder though Wink

I still want to know who this "Holly" is that Kerry is referring to.  I know that holly grows right here where I live.  I've got some trees planted in my yard.  His mention of a Holly in Africa really made me take a few steps back.

Oh, by the way, I also have 2 acres of walnut that will be ready to harvest in about 10 years.  I know you like that wood John, so hook up with me around then.

Also, I have trees called redbud out here.  They don't get too large, but the wood is extremely exotic in appearance.  The wood looks like cocobolo but with more vivid yellows, tans and greys.  The wife does not let me cut them down until they die of natural causes, but they would be perfect for pen blanks.  I'll see if I can't accidentally break off a limb and send a few blanks your way.

I thought redbud was crap wood, as they don't last long down here. I'll have to find some.

I thought is was crapwood myslef, and the trees don't really get large enough to use for woodworking.  However, I cut one down a while back and was really blown away by what the inside looks like.  I cut it into pieces to  use for future projects, but never found a use for a few small pieces.

Oh wait, I still have them around here.  I will take pictures in a bit and post them.

You will probably never find any for sale commercially as the trees are so small, but just wait until you see the pictures of this wood.
