I hope to knock out at least two puzzles by the next update. I've been looking through the 'Unknown' list off Ishino's website and think I'll do a burr or two.
Competing with my puzzle time is the necessity to renovate our master bath. Our insurance was kind enough to help cover the cost to repair the leaky shower, so we plan to renovate the whole thing instead. A new tile shower with glass surround will give us a more modern (less builder basic) look, and once we get this beast of a clawfoot tub we scored reglazed, it will look much better. Until then, it too occupies shop space.
The double sink vanity has to go though, and to replace it sits several dozen feet of rough sawn black walnut in the middle of my shop floor. Translating rough lumber into two small vanities is going to suck up a bunch of time, but on the bright side, they only have to be accurate to 1/16", so it should go quick, right?

Shop notes:I've learned to buy quality. Feel the pain once up front, instead of every time you use it.
Recent poor quality failures:
Delta AP400 dust collector - capacitor died because Delta saved $8 by putting the cheaper (but wrong) one in it.
Enco 'Shop grade' Squares - weren't square. Fought with my (to-be-replaced-with-Sawstop) Delta table saw for at least four hours setting up for Giant Steps. It turned out that 2 of my 4 squares were off by 4-5 degrees.
Shop Additions: Freud LU85 ultimate cutoff blade, as my old one is 5 years without seeing a sharpener.
Forrest blade dampener: How did I survive without one? Multi-year brain-fart.
HarborFreight 2hp dust collector: Vetted online by many other woodworkers, the Wynn filter to fit it should arrive next week. To prep for the Wynn filter, I also made a Thein baffle for it tonight. Hopefully a well invested hour's worth of work, though I haven't noticed any difference yet. (
