Sold the old one to a man with his arm in a sling.

This one should arrive early next week:

Steel City 10" Granite Cabinet Saw
http://www.steelcitytoolworks.com/products_tools.cfm?section=2&category=12&tool=35900G

Granite topped - 550lbs. Comes with a free WoodworkerII blade.

A couple unrealized drawbacks to a granite table top:
Magnetic featherboards will no longer work.
Rather hard to add a router lift into the wing.

Below is the old one, taking off out the door tonight. Smiley

Looks like that thing weighs a ton.  I assume it is belt driven to reduce vibrations.  You know that you are now going to have to redo all of your sleds.  Shocked

Wow!  That's a beaut!

Good luck with the set-up!  Looks like that granite can double as an assembly area.

Was going to work in a line about "taking it for granite" but I'll leave that to Robert!

490 pounds from the spec. I need to find one of those mobile bases that don't have three wheels. Looks like it ships with a standard V belt though, I may upgrade that to link right off.

I've been fighting with with alignment problems on the old saw for so long that it will be nice to only have to align this one (hopefully) once. I was tempted to hold out for a cheap cabinet saw off CL, but didn't want the possibility of repeating my accuracy problems. 5 year warranty, and (I believe) 10yr on the tabletop.

Indeed, it is a cool saw, but look at all of that safety equipment that needs to be removed.  Cheesy

Not much to remove. The blade guard can be easily replaced with a riving knife, one feature I was rather keen on. Why it ships with two riving knives I don't know.

There's a few downsides to the saw though. Magnets don't work on granite, and putting in a router lift is going to be a bit difficult. A zero-clearance insert may be difficult to fashion too, as the riving knife goes all the way back. I'll figure out something, or suffer through. Smiley

Ahh, but granite does not rust.  I have to oil me surface all the time.  It seems like a fair trade.

Btw, if you see the shock warning has been tripped, decline delivery.
