Hi Robert,

Yes I know Peter well, he has a very nice collection, but James Dalgety's is by far the largest I have seen. Been to his museum a number of times, and he still has lots of things I have never seen.

There is quite a good puzzle community in blighty, Peter Hajek, James Dalgety, Laurie Brokenshire, Simon Nightingale, Martin Watson, Steve Nichols, Trever Wood, Robert Reid, Andrea Gilbert, Adrian Fisher etc etc

Eric met up with Laurie in NY - in an Irish bar I seem to remember.

Not too many people making high quality puzzles, although Pentangle do some good work. We do have some good puzzle designers - Simon Nightingale's one piece packing puzzle is still one of my favourite puzzles ever. Martin Watson also has some good ideas, and I used one last year as my exchange puzzle at IPP.

Reading some of the other threads, I bought your snowflake puzzle, and I was at first concerned that mine had a ribbon throught the top!!! But your later post cleared that one up.

Hi John!

I have not had correspondence with James for years, but I have takled with Peter Hajek from time to time.  I keep looking forward to the time we can be in the same place at the same time, but I have a hard time affording trips to IPP.  My goal is to make it to the one in California next year.

As far as the snowflake, I also realized a bit after my post that the auction pictures I saw in the past could have also shown them from with the ribbon hole in the back.  This is not the first time I have had to eat my shoe after posting something online (ask Mark about my recommendation of using skateboard bearings).

I've been making a few puzzles from Stuart Coffin's "Geometric Puzzle Design".  I ran into Lee Krasnow at the Bay Area Maker Faire this weekend, he pointed me to your site and the puzzle contest, so here I am...

Hi, My name is Ron Locke. I am just learning about puzzle boxes. I have made a few but had no idea that they were something that someone would pay a lot of money for. I was a cabinet maker for many years and did woodworking for a hobby. I also have been a performing magician for many years and built my own props.
I need to learn more about how to get around within this web site. I would like to know if there is a location on this site that list wherer everbody lives (what state), I there was someone near my home state, I could visit them.
Thank you for interest.

Welcome Ron,

I don't think there is a listing by state, but the Members tab up top will show all the forum members. Many of us have opted to put our location in our profile descriptions.

Ron,  Show us pictures of your jewelery puzzlebox with the inlays.  Hook up with Phil Tomlinson, as he is a cabinet maker by trade also (I think) and he is just getting into puzzlebox making.
