John,

My avatar is a tetrahdron, it's an explosion type puzzle made of 4 identical triangles and 6 identical locking pieces.
On the same type , i made a buckyball with many more pieces of course  Wink

Very nice indeed!  Do you happen to have a physical copy, so you can post a pic?

Hi David

Thanks for posting your pic.

NOW:  All the rest of you silent watchers out there, post your pics please?

Of course I'm speaking specifically to Dentistsan, Mr McCullum, Mr Dawson and the other guys who post regularly who have not shown us what you look like.

Hello

Here are 2 photos of my avatar (assembled and disassembled) and 1 of my buckyball design (i'am sorry, it's in plywood !)

For the buckyball, I used 2 softwares
the first is stella 4.4, free version at http://www.software3d.com/Stella.php to know angles between each piece
the second is Alibre design express, a free 3D modeler at http://www.alibre.fr/ to check the cuts in pieces and verify the complete assembly

Wow David,  what perfectly detailed exotic cuts.  What are some of those, like 22.5 degrees with 45 degree rabbit cuts.  You will have to show us some pictures of the jigs that you use.

Hello Robert

I do not have much machine to manufacture my puzzles  Sad. I have a precision circular saw from PROXXON and a scrollsaw to make cuts on pieces for locking each other.
The difficulty to obtain a puzzle easy to assembly is to be precise when you manually draw cuts on each piece and when you do the cuts with the scrollsaw.
If you're interested , i can post plans of pieces.

To Bernhard
If it's not a secret  Wink, what type of wood will you use to make the 4-corners cube ?

Hi David

the woods are not fixed, but we will take some contrasting hardwoods, may be maple + jatoba for a nice contrast, of course you will get one for your collection;

hi all pen-lovers, especially made by John Devost:

next week I`ll send him the following small plank from a Amboyna-grained wood; I think it will be enough for about 10 or 12 nice pens;so prepare your orders!!!

regards

Hi John

Couldn't miss; someone was bound to. It is a Twister 4x2, probably the only copy ever made.
