 Cheesy
Hi puzzleworkers

after so many unpuzzled and undwooden posts in some other categories of this forum ( lions- engeneers-leopards...) here a picture of three Stewart Coffin designs:
in the middle: my prototyp of Coffins Involute cube
left side: the final results of Involute Cube IPP 27
(new Pelikan workshop)
right side: Coffin Dilemma II for IPP 28 (same workshop)

pay attention for the identical "windmill" pattern of the wood in all puzzles here

so now you can discuss again about ( lions-engeneers and leopards )
happy puzzling

Hi Bernhard

Sometimes things are a bit slack, then I post other stuff.

Very nice!  I just want to say something:  After visiting your website, I have a lot to learn from you, definitely not the other way around!

Hmmmm...does it have any resemblance to his 'Mosaic' design, I'd love to see a pic of the pieces, without giving away too much that is Lips sealed

The Mosaic design is the forerunner to the 'Convolution', I made a prototype once but might be a good one for you to tackle, it's on page 14 of Stewart Coffin's AP-ART, it's a really cool design, but actually the one I meant to refer to, follows that design and it's a 6 piece dissection of a 4x4x3 and can be made with eighteen 1x1x2 blocks and twelve 1x1x1 blocks and it looks a lot like the one on the right in your pic Wink

If I remember correctly, there was one cube in the stacking diagram for the Mosaic that was un-numbered in AP-ART.  I remember asking Stewart about which piece the un-numbered cube belonged to and eventually figured it out.  At least, I think I have the correct puzzle in mind...  If this be the case, I can possibly dig out my copy of AP-ART sometime around the 20th of Sept (I marked it in my copy).

Let me know...

Hi John

thanks to you we all now see more clearly;
I had the description in the book but I didn?t ever read it exactly;
the new Dilemma II (#213) is designed in the same line as mosaic-convolution and involute, but without turns

best regards

Yeah that's it Bernhard, they all have the same 'windmill' pattern you mentioned!
Scott, I'm pretty sure it's the one you likely have marked, I made one the other day and posted it on facebook under 'my puzzles II', I think that's were I put it anyway, here's a pic;

Hi Scott

the un-numbered cube belongs to piece nr. 5 and the puzzle works perfect;

Hi John
when I saw your pictures in puzzles II in facebook it looked like a small mass production, how do you get that time for it ??

in the picture the result of a rainy day,my prive cubeday:
in front left: Twin Pentominooes into a Light Box (Primitivo F. Ramos)made in maple + jatoba
in front right: 1 in 2 with Frame ( Mineyuki Uyematsu) made in maple + jatoba

Took me a little while to find this post...thanks for bringing up the 'missing' piece number of the 'Mosaic' Scott!  I made one before but couldn't remember what piece number I had assigned to it, thanks Bernhard for the info!
