INTELLI  REX  AND  SPAWN

The unrestrained ?progress? of the industrial Homo Sapiens radically altered the climate and atmosphere of Terra at an exponential rate to the extent that they became extinct in the year 2104 as they count time. Archeological evidence also points to a virus called AIDS aiding the process.

A very rudimentary artificial intelligence, called Cray 1406, developed by Homo Sapiens to make an attempt to ensure their survival, functioned for another century after their demise.  Millions of ?Intel inside, Idiot outside? type of computing devices left by man was at the Cray?s disposal.  He utilized and brutalized in our terms, these Abaci, to create his own legacy and thus Intelli Rex came to be.  Their total inorganic nature makes them immune to the chemical, radioactive and unbreathable glop left by mankind as inheritance.

Homo Sapiens was almost not even a blip on the galactical timescale, how long will these last?.

Will they survive?  Will this be worthy successors to Tyrannosuarus Rex?  Only time will tell ?

Shown here are the earliest creations, Intelli Rex (Goldstar GM16C450 9214) and a spawn just out of the ?assembly?.  Their time is stopped by a stasis field to enable us to study these beings.  (Please note: No harm is being done to the poor little critters in this process!)

Odd Critters, and profound thoughts to boot.  Perhaps you should take on Sci-Fi novelist as an extra hobby. Smiley  (John - I got the T-shirt on that one.)

Still, if this is an area to post vague social commentaries, then I must also comment on the irony of the human condition (e.g. that which we despise most in our nature is essentual to our continued survival).

Practically every technological advancement we currently enjoy today owes its developmental roots to warfare or greed.  (I would post a list of such advancements, but I would be here all day.)  It is the immoral aspects of the human condition (primarily our desire to destroy or dominate over our fellow man) that has allowed us to progress and survive as a species.

Ironically, the war that we hate so much for its destruction has so far saved more lives than it has taken.  (Just one example out of many is quinine and penicillin - one developed to help troops conquer malaria and the other funded by milliary to address battle wound infections.)  These medecines alone have saved more lives than those lost in all wars combined).

Eventually, we may destroy off our entire species with our bold arrogance, but our greed, immorality, bloodlust and stupidity has served us well up until this time.

Any thoughts?

Kerry

It is old computer parts hat has been assembled with the scrap screws when I disassembled the stuff.  Who said that computers die, they just take on a new form.

I made this when I couldn't make puzzles due to not having a workshop.

Robert

In the late seventies I was in the army (compulsory draft at the time) fighting against terrorism on the Northern Borders of Namibia.  I once read an scribble on a toilet wall there which sums it up for me:  "Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity!"  Please excuse the language.

OK guys, I may have started something here that I should have avoided.  I have lots to say on social, political, and religious subjects, but I am still a bit gun shy from our last thread on ethics, and fear a similar run away train.  Wow that thread was an insane bull ride that in the end accomplished nothing.

I say we just get back on Johan's topic, and I apologize for taking us off subject.

Well, in your future dystopia, humans may be gone but Mecha-Streisand lives on!!!!

You think she's nuts now, she's completely insane by then because the only thing left to do between fighting off Intelli Rex is playing Uno with Michael Jackson and Cher (both of whom became completely cybernetic as an unanticapted result of extensive plastic surgury around 2019).  Compounding their agression is the fact that all of them have X-ray vision and can see what cards the other is holding.

GARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

Fair enough.  I submit that "Make love not warcraft" was the best Southpark ever though.

This was the result of a seriously bored dude with no workshop.

Great fun.  I've made another two and all of them are ornaments in my study.  I cannot afford original "art" so I make it myself.

My apologies Johan.  I had no idea that this was something that you had actually made.  I thought it was simply a unique picture that you had pulled off the internet somewhere (something everyone does around here on a regular basis.)

I think this is a very unique medium for art.  Why would you want to buy traditional art when you make something this unique on your own. If this is what you make when you are bored, I wonder what you could accomplish when you have your mind set on something.

Again, sorry.  I thought you were just making a profound comment on our social condition.  In my defense, you never actually mentioned that this was something you fashioned with your own hands.

Hi Robert

No apologies necessary.  I got axactly the reaction I wanted.

Somebody convinced me exhibit Intellirex at an art exhibition.  I didi not want to stand around there explaining so I wrote the piece which started the thread.

Below another one: MFOUSCQKUEIRTO which you can figure out if you put your mind to it.
