Here's your chance to have a loan of some of your favorite puzzles/boxes, and we simply ask that you take all precautions that these items are not damaged. Please post your choice of puzzle/box and either me or Robert will reply.  Only one puzzle per person at any given time will be allowed. It will be your responsibility to send the item to the next person on the list. Any comments about the puzzles should be directed to the craftsman they would like you're feedback and happy puzzling.  Here's the current list of puzzles/boxes available:

Whoever wants it next should post there request in this forum thread, and Matt will send it to them when he is done.

I'll make a new sub-forum so you can post each puzzle in its own thread for easier tracking, but before I do so I think we should address a few things.

-I recommend that we limit participation to known collectors for obvious reasons.  Not sure how to effectively implement that, but I think name recognition should take care of it.

-Sooner or later one of these is going to get broken or lost in the mail.  You may want to think about the best way to cross that bridge when you get there.

-Give to get?  Perhaps recipients should have to share from their end to partake.

Just trying to make sure this stays fun and everyone's happy, because there's definitely the potential for conflict and/or issues if it becomes a popular thing with many participants.

I think everyone takes into consideration the possibility of theft, breakage, and mail loss when they submit a puzzle to the library.  If it becomes too much of an issue, I will just retract my puzzles and we can cancel the program.  I also plan to mark the puzzles I send out with "sample" so that I will know if a puzzle that is supposedly "lost in mail" ever resurfaces in trade or acution.

My main goal was just to provide collectors who could not afford or were just not quick enough to get one of my puzzles with the ability to at least play with it.  I realize that I am stepping out on a limb here, so hopefully things will work out well.

Oh and having a main library forum with individual posts for each item will make things sooooo much easier to reserve, and keep track of puzzles.  I have seen how some threads get off topic, and I don't want to go through 800 posts to see who is supposed to have a puzzle.  It would also make it easier for other people to add thier own contributions to the library and set thier own requirements for check out time and such.  Thanks for doing that Eric.

If possible, it would be nice to remove the "delete" or "edit entry" options from that particualar forum section, as I don't want people to be able to manipulate thier posts.  If such is not possible, then that is also fine, but I thought I would ask.

Sounds fair Robert.

I think the separate forum is a good idea, however, I think that in able to participate it would really be a better idea for someone to have to put some skin in the deal, i.e. offer up at least one of *their* puzzles to be borrowed.  This is fairly easy to enforce - the person cannot post to receive a puzzle unless they have at least one offered up or already at large.  What do you think?

Very good point about editing posts.  I'll look into it and see if that's something I can restrict on a local basis.
