Fairly quiet here for y'all!

Here are some puzzling items I thought you may find interesting.

Jeff Aurand- An on and off again puzzle box maker.  He would be great for the contest since he has never sold any of his boxes.

You should contact Jeff through James to let him know.  He probably has an old entry just lying around.

Hi There!

I don't have any old puzzles lying around, but I do have a couple of plans yet to be implemented. If I can get my kitchen cabinets done, I'll spend some time on one of the puzzle boxes and submit to the competition.

Hi Jeff,

Welcome to the forum.  So far I have had exactly ZERO interest in, or feedback on the contest, so its existance is in jeopardy.  We'll see how things work out.  Right now you could send in a paper airplane and claim first prize.

Eric,

Well consider this my notification of intent to enter! I promise I'll do better than a paper airplane. I should get the kitchen done by the end of July; I'll finish a box by the end of August and ship it off!

Sounds good, but if I receive less than 8-10 entries, the whole deal will probably be cancelled.  I'll come up with some kind of consolation prize in that event.

Eric,

I hope you're able to attract some other puzzle makers! I think the contest is a great idea.

I'll make mention of the contest on the Fine Woodworking web site - maybe we can stir up some additional interest.

Eric,  If I wasn't so busy planning a house move I too would love to enter your competition.  I think the contest is a great idea, I hope you get more interest, don't give up on it!!!

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate that.  I had high hopes as well but honestly have run into a wall when it comes to promoting the contest.  I've posted on a few woodworking forums but have received no interest.  I thought the prizes were pretty generous ('specially since the cash is coming out of my pocket!)....I mean, c'mon!  $500 bucks is like 9 gallons or gas or something!

Once the IPP is over, things will no doubt change.

Eric, I would encourage you to hang in there with the contest as well.  I had mentioned the contest to a number of others when the contest was first announced, and I know at least 2 more were interested.  I think there are more interested who just haven't spoken up yet.

You can count me in for the contest.  I've got a good idea of what I'm going to build, now I'm trying to figure out how make it...

Ok Carl, I've got to ask, what puzzle is that in your 'avatar pic'?  I'm nosy like that Grin
