That's a common (unnerving) problem we've all faced.  I'd suggest making a hinged hold-down arm that's mounted near the middle of your sled (cutoff side) or behind your back stop reaching over it.

Eric had tons of fun cutting aluminum on his table saw. Be warned though, my dad melted his phenolic saw insert cutting metals.

They do make bandsaw blades for cutting metals too. After cut to length, it may be easiest to chuck up in a drill and deburr with some sandpaper or a disposable file.

Love the box.. I'm quite impressed that it only took you a day.

As for a saw, I fought with alignment issues on my old saw and spent more time adjusting it than I did producing puzzles. I agree with Eric, get a floor standing model and save yourself some hair loss. I'd hunt for a used cabinet saw, but definitely at least a contractor saw, with a mobile base.

Here every ^$%&* "previously disadvantaged" is getting on, or trying to get on the government gravy train!!!  Bloody disgusting!!

In the US, we prefer to give handouts to the banks and auto giants.

"The new legislation imposes an additional third-party testing requirement for all consumer products primarily intended for children twelve years of age or younger."

I guess "Not suitable for children under 13." may become more prevalent.

Thanks for that Kerry, not sure why I never thought of that Embarrassed With one of those outfits and a full respirator helmet, I'll be good to go Shocked and then for Halloween I can use the outfit to dress up as a 'Puzzlemaker' Grin

We called it my 'bunny suit'. I got so warm I had to cut openings in the back for ventilation. I didn't get hives again though.

After I got hives on my neck I bought a disposable Tyvek suit.

You may look funny, but it also keeps you warm.

I don't know which is worse, Cocobolo for the itching, Padauk for the dust that stains my clothing, or mdf that goes *everywhere*. (Or cutting Jatoba/zebrawood, which smell like dog poop.)

I'm blue, because I don't have one, room for one, or any money to get one.

On the other hand, Eric is nearby, and has a weakness for certain varieties of beer, so I have the prospect of bribing him for time on his. Smiley
